Choosing A Good Stripper Stage Name
What’s Your Stripper Name? Why do strippers have stage names? Maybe you are thinking of becoming an exotic dancer. You will need a stripper name to use for the stage. Dancers use a stage name not only for their privacy but also so that they can have a persona. So choosing the right kind of stage name is important.
You don’t want to use your real name in any instance. Having a stage name allows a stripper to maintain her privacy in a world where there are many uncertainties.
Your name not only provides you with privacy, it also gives you a persona that you can use during your career as a dancer. If you choose a stripper name that is somewhat normal you won’t have to deal with customers prying into your business and asking you “Is that your real name”?
Stripper names like Champagne, Hennessy, Mercedes, Candy, Cherry, Diamond and Star are popular. No doubt, it seems fun to take on a name like that, but in the grand scheme of things, it’s hard to be serious about dancing as a career with such a generic name. These are the stereotypical names that people expect exotic dancers to have.
These types of names seem fun but can be trouble for you. I guarantee that all night, your customers will want to know your real name. All night long. They will even use it as a bargaining point. Your name should be memorable, but not a distraction.
It’s guaranteed that every customer you meet will ask you, “so, what’s your real name?” You don’t want customers to even consider that you have a real name. It’s good to have a unique name, but not a name that will be hard for others to remember, as well.

Some clubs won’t let you choose names that are named after objects, like car names, the names of liquor brands. Clubs that do this are trying to present an image, and a cheap and generic dancer name is not a good image to uphold. They want customers to see their dancers as real women, not just objects.
Choose a name that will compliment your style. Are you into hip hop? Country music? or Rock and Metal? It would be a good compliment to your stage show if you had a name that seemed appropriate for the style that you are into.
The DJ will be calling your name for rotation all night. If you are new to dancing it won’t be easy to remember your dancer name at first. So an easy way to have a stripper name that you can remember is to choose a name that starts with the same letter of the name you already have. If your real name is Ashley, then dance as Amber. It will be easier to remember in conversation, as well.
The name you choose will have an affect on your potential income as a stripper, so choose wisely!
Here are some suggestions to get you started – Some of these names are from dancers that I’ve known throughout the years. Other names are additions.
